Central Standard TimeThe selected candidate will be required to provide instruction involving the use of advanced physical skills, such as restraints and floor proceduresThis is an anticipated vacancyDescriptionThis is a position established as an Education and Training Specialist, under the Training Specialist II-SES in Staff Development at Sunland.
This position requires highly responsible, professional work in developing, coordinating, conducting, evaluating, and monitoring job and position-specific staff training activities which includes classroom and practice instruction.
Prepares and conducts a wide range of developmental services training activities for management, professional and non-professional Sunland and community Developmental Services staff.
Instructs employees in required subjects contributing to a well-trained, competent work force.
Includes serving as third shift liaison with Staff Development and adjusting schedule to ensure staff on third shift receive all required training and updates.
Conducts refresher testing/training in assigned units/departments on a monthly basis to ensure staff are current with requirements.
Coordinates scheduling for designated training with assigned units/departments ensuring effective communication to ensure staff are current with requirements.
Ensures curriculum in assigned lead classes is up-to-date and is linked to Agency's and Sunland's mission, vision, values and covers current Agency and Sunland policies and procedures.
Maintains certifications in CPR and other required subject areas, increases expertise with additional certifications to meet the changing needs of employees.
Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements Valid driver's license.
High school diploma or its equivalent At least one year of professional experience teaching/training Willingness to provide instruction involving the use of advanced physical skills, such as restraints and floor procedures Preferred:
CPR Instructor Certification Preferred:
Mandt Instructor Certification.
Preferred but not required :
A degree in a related field Experience, education, and/or training used to meet the minimum qualifications and in response to the qualifying questions must be verifiable through information contained in your application.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
