Description

Assist in implementation of Occupational Therapy and/or Physical Therapy treatment plans designed and supervised by the therapists to enhance and/or maintain the functional abilities of clients.
Complete data sheets on each client for whom services are provided, daily.
Report any changes or concerns regarding a client or program to therapist.
Complete data sheets on a monthly basis and give to therapist for monthly comments.
Copy and file all paperwork in appropriate places.

Weekly, check all adaptive equipment (helmets, feeding equipment and splints) issued to clients by OT.
Check all orthotic devices and personal wheelchairs that have been ordered through PT.
Fill out appropriate reports and give to therapists by Monday morning.

Complete monthly tracking regarding therapy sessions held to be submitted to Special Communications for contract tracking.
Attend active treatment meetings if directed by therapist.
Assist with client treatment coverage if another aide is out.
Assist during breakfast and lunch with residents assigned by OT.
Assist with transporting residents, if needed.

Complete daily timesheets to be submitted to Special Communications.
Be responsible to lock up and otherwise secure the rehab department building at the end of the day.

Works with therapists to obtain quotes from various companies to help with the equipment purchases.
Fills out purchase requisitions using MyFloridaMarketplace.
Works with accounting and warehouse in the tracking of these requisitions.
Keeps a record of all purchase requisitions and tracks the process, following up, when necessary, to keep smooth and expedient flow.
Picks up items at warehouse.
Helps therapist, medical and houses with distribution of acquired items.

Other tasks that may be assigned include typing, copying, filing, phone calls, organizational activities, and other clerical duties.
Perform cleaning duties as indicated on the clean up schedule posted in the office.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or its equivalent.

One (1) year of professional experience with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the objectives and techniques used in rehabilitation, recreational, occupational, or physical therapy.

Ability to assist in or carry out therapy programs.

Ability to observe patients' progress and identify changes.

Ability to maintain records.

Ability to participate in planning and organizing therapy programs.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT:
